This is a photo of some of the glass bottles recovered from the sunken steamboat Arabia located at the Arabia Steamboat Museum in Kansas City, MO. It’s a fascinating museum, worth the visit if you are ever in Kansas City. The Arabia sank near Kansas City on September 5, 1856, carrying 200 tons of mystery cargo. Lost for 132 years, its recovery in 1988 was like finding the King Tut’s Tomb of the Missouri River. Remarkably preserved clothes, tools, guns, dishware and more.
The display of glass bottles caught me eye right away. The different colors and textures illuminated by the display lights was a beautiful sight.
